As with most Boulle work, whether it is laid on Furniture, Clocks or other objects, movement inevitably causes the brass and tortoiseshell to lift or break away from the substrate.

In our example the table had suffered typical damage and required all the loose or lifting brass and tortoiseshell to be laid down once again. Our Cabinet Maker made the missing brass foliage.
